our story
William Murray, a PHIUS-certified builder, and Sarah Cobb, a Passive House-certified consultant, have been building together for over fifteen years. They founded Construction Rocket in 2012.
The company's name started out as a lighthearted jab at the old red trailer — built from recycled wood — that followed the team from site to site. Since then, completing PHIUS-certified and LEED Platinum homes has turned that inside joke into a recognized name in high-performance construction.
In 2021, three new leaders joined the company: Marie Francis as Office Manager, Karl Dandenault as Project Manager, and Jean-Mathieu Perreault as Head of Operations. Together, the five directors are steering Rocket into its next chapter.
Since 2025, a growing desire to engage more actively in the community — and to bring a social dimension into our practice — is leading us in a new direction: offering consulting services, training, and workshops to individuals and local non-profit organizations to make building science more accessible. With this goal in mind, we started a new division: Rocket Science. This project is still taking shape. Find out more.

our values
SUSTAINABILITY
Years of renovating deteriorating homes and giving them a second life have taught us to value the tools and knowledge that make houses healthy, durable, and good for the people who live in them.
PERFORMANCE
The Québec climate is harsh on building envelopes, but new technologies and practices exist — and we are committed to using them to build homes that are beautiful, energy-efficient, and durable. It doesn't have to be complicated: a well-insulated, airtight building doesn't need complex, expensive energy systems. Performance can be simple.
ENVIRONMENT
The construction industry accounts for over 39% of global carbon emissions. By building smaller, using local, healthy, durable, and carbon-storing materials, and managing waste more responsibly on every job site — through sorting, recovery, recycling, and reuse — we aim to make a difference and reduce our footprint.
TEAM
We are fortunate to work with an incredible team of bright, committed, and resourceful people, who are passionate about their work and always eager to learn.
SHARING
We work closely with small businesses, community organisations and individuals that share our values to advance high-performance building in our corner of the world.
