our story
William Murray, a PHIUS-certified builder, and Sarah Cobb, a Passive House-certified consultant, have been building together for over fifteen years and founded Construction Rocket in 2012...
Although the somewhat surprising name was intended as a comical jab at the old red trailer made of recycled wood that accompanied the team on construction sites, two PHIUS certified houses and several LEED Platinum certified houses have made it a recognized reference in the field of high-performance construction.
In 2021, a new generation of leaders joined the company. Marie Francis, as Office Manager, Karl Dandenault, as Project Manager, and Jean-Mathieu Perreault, as Head of Operations, completed the team to help Rocket grow. The company is now led by five directors and is ready for the future.
In 2025, a growing desire to participate more actively in the community and integrate a more social aspect into our practice is driving us to explore different ways of structuring our company. The goal: to offer consulting services, training, workshops, and the opportunity for individuals and local non-profit organizations to benefit from our expertise at reasonable rates, thereby democratizing building science and high-performance construction. This "division" is still under construction, and the dream is taking shape... to be continued .

our values
SUSTAINABILITY
Having done many renovations of unhealthy houses, we appreciate the new tools and knowledge that ensure health and long life for houses and those who occupy them.
PERFORMANCE
Our climate is harsh on the building envelope, but new technologies and practices exist, and we are committed to using them to create homes that are both beautiful and energy-efficient. It doesn't have to be complicated; a well-insulated, airtight building doesn't require complex and expensive energy systems.
ENVIRONMENT
The construction industry is responsible for over 39% of global carbon emissions. By reducing the size of our buildings, using local, healthy, sustainable, and carbon-storing materials, and improving waste sorting on construction sites, we aim to make a difference. We also implement more responsible waste management practices on all our sites, focusing on sorting, recovery, recycling, and reuse.
TEAM
We are fortunate to work with an incredible team of bright, intelligent, committed, and ingenious people. People who are passionate about and question what they do.
SHARING
We leverage the expertise of several small businesses that share our values to advance the cause of high-performance buildings in our small corner of the world.
